    Adam Drewnowski

    Dr. Adam Drewnowski is a world-renowned leader in the prevention and treatment of obesity. He is Professor of Epidemiology and the Director of the Center for Public Health Nutrition at the School of Public Health. He is also the Director of the University of Washington Center for Obesity Research. Dr. Drewnowski is Adjunct Professor of Medicine and is a Joint Member of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.

    Dr. Drewnowski is the inventor of the Nutrient Rich Foods Index, which rates individual foods based on their overall nutritional value, and the Affordable Nutrition Index, which helps consumers identify affordable healthy foods. He has conducted extensive studies on taste function and food preferences, exploring the role of fat, sugar, and salt on food preferences and food cravings.

    Dr. Drewnowski obtained his MA degree in biochemistry at Balliol College, Oxford, and a PhD degree in psychology at The Rockefeller University in New York.

    Dr. Sutherland is an internationally recognized food and nutrition thought leader who has served in the business, academic and public health sectors. Dr. Sutherland is engaged by private and public organizations to advise on diverse food and nutrition related issues. She has provided strategic counsel to food and beverage companies, retailers, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, public relation firms and trade associations.

    Dr. Sutherland previously served as the Vice President of Nutrition for Kellogg North America, and prior to that spent ten years in public health academia as a NIH-funded investigator at Dartmouth College and the University of North Carolina. Dr. Sutherland has taught and lectured extensively on food and nutrition programs, policy, and marketing.

    Dr. Sutherland holds a doctoral degree in public health nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition science from Simmons College in Boston, MA.

    Dr. Freedhoff is an expert in the treatment and management of overweight and obesity, a sought after speaker and teacher. He has been referred to as Canada's most outspoken obesity experts and the Canadian Medical Association Journal once dubbed him a Canadian "nutritional watchdog". His advocacy efforts in both obesity and nutrition policy have landed him speaking at the Canadian House of Commons regarding his concerns surrounding Canada's Food Guide and as a member of multiple stakeholder groups run by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

    Dr. Freedhoff's award winning blog, Weighty Matters, is considered by both media and professionals as one of the most important health blogs in the world.Not content with just his own blog, he also writes a weekly column for US News and World Report and is a guest blogger for both Psychology Today and the Huffington Post. Dr. Freedhoff is the author of The Diet Fix: Why Everything You've Been Taught About Dieting is Wrong and How to Fix It.
